Dubai Cruise Terminal
The façade of the new Cruise Terminal Building is based upon Dubais contemporary Arabic design. The main purpose is to reflect Dubais rich heritage as a maritime center, present a strong positive image of U.A.E. hospitality, and to express the importance of Dubai as an international tourist destination. The berth nos. 28 thru 32 (quay length of approx.1000 mts, extendable) in port Rashid is exclusively reserved for the berthing of cruise ships calling Dubai. The new terminal spanning an area of 3,450 sq.mts is conveniently situated on the quay at berths 30 & 31 providing easy access to all passengers. Terminal is built to have the capacity to handle more than three to four ships simultaneously. The Terminal has tourist friendly infrastructure with facilities like Bank offering currency exchange and ATM, post office counter, business centre with free internet access, V.I.P. Majlis, Café, shops selling souvenirs, gifts, perfume, electronics; washrooms accessible for the physically challenged, big screens, wi-fi enabled for laptop users, ariel and coach tour operators and more. Nevertheless, the terminal also houses offices for other government bodies involved in the business like Customs, Immigration, C.I.D etc. DTCM in conjunction with major shopping malls are operating free shuttle busses to and from their respective shopping malls to serve the passenger needs and also have help desks manned to guide the passengers. Over and above all, DTCM has information counters inside the Cruise Terminal which is manned round the clock to handle and assist passenger queries and requirements and also provide free city maps & brochures of various tourist and heritage locations in Dubai.
