China Star Professional Programs (China Star), established in 2001, is a private shareholding company specialized in meeting and incentive travel. At present, China Star, with its head office based in Beijing, has 30 staff in management, marketing, sales, operation, logistics and finance with a team of over 100 official and freelance guides in its Beijing Office. China Star has its own office in Shanghai and contracted local agents in all destination cities in China for meeting and incentive travel. The business of China Star covers the whole country. 98% of its staff is well educated with master or bachelor degrees and very good English skills for both speaking and translation. China Star is the corporate member of the most authoritative meeting association of ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association). There are two MPI (Meeting Professionals International) members and four SITE (Society of Incentive and Travel Executives) members in the Beijing Head Office and 1-3 SITE members in each of the local offices or agents. Anyone who works for China Star has to take regular trainings and reaches the standards of the company. Meanwhile, Ms. Liu Ping, CEO of the company, was elected as a member of the International Board of Directors of SITE at the end of 2008. She actually is the first international board member from Mainland China in SITE history. China Star enjoys the recognition of all the above international organizations. During the 2008 Olympic Games, China Star received more than 4,500 foreign visitors such as the USA Olympic Committee (USOC) officials including Mr. Peter Ueberroth, President of USOC, altogether 15 US sport teams including the US Mens Soccer Team, the US Womens Soccer Team, the US Gymnastics Team, the US Swimming Team and the US Diving Team, as well as NIKE and athletes sponsored by NIKE.
